Q. What is the difference between a kabin & a lodge?
A. Kabins have electricity with air & heat. There are also electrical outlets. The beds have a mattress but linens are not provided. Most people simply bring a sleeping bag & a pillow. There are not kitchens, bathrooms or running water in the kabins. All kabins are near the bath house. All kabins have a porch swing, picnic table, and a fire pit.
Q. So what's in a lodge?
A. Lodges will have a full bath. Linens are provided on all the beds. There is a full bath and a HD flat screen TV. There is also a kitchen with a microwave, toaster, coffee maker, refrigerator, and basic items such as pots, pans, and silverware. Big lodges will also have an oven, the smaller lodge will not. Lodges will have central air & heat. Lodges will also have a deck, a large patio with a picnic table, fire pit and a gas grill.
Q. Why do you spell kabin with a "k"?
A. The answer to that is highly confidential - but we can tell you it's a KOA thing.
Q. What size are the beds in the kabins?
A. In a 1-room kabin, there will be a full size bed & a bunk bed with a twin mattress. In a 2-room kabin, there will be a full size bed with 2 bunk beds with twin mattresses.
Q. What size are the beds in the lodges?
A. In the small lodges, there is a queen size bed and a bunk bed. In the large lodges, there is a queen size bed in the master bed room; a bunk in the next room with a twin up top and a full size below; and a hide-a-bed in the living room that is full size.
Q. How many does each kabin sleep?
A. Small kabins sleep 4 & large kabins sleep 6.
Q. How many does each lodge sleep?
A. Small lodges sleep 4 and large lodges sleep 7.
Q. What if I have more people than the cabin or lodge sleeps?
A. It is possible for people to sleep on the floor, but reservations that exceed the recommended number of people in the kabin or lodge may only be made by calling the office.
Q. What are the check-in and check-out times?
A. For kabins, the check-in is 2p.m. & check-out is by 11 a.m. For lodges, check-in is 4 p.m. & check-out is by 11a.m.
Q. Why are the check-in and check-out times different with kabins & lodges?
A. Lodges take a great deal more time and effort to clean and prepare for the next guest. So it is imperative that guests respect the check-in & check-out times to ensure a great experience for the next camper.
Q. Can I set up a late check-out with the kabins or lodges?
A. Again, due to the above reasons campers need to respect the posted check-out times.
Q. I have a pet - can it stay in the cabin?
A. Due to issues with allergies, we do not allow pets in any building which includes our lodges & cabins.
Q. When should I make a reservation?
A.. Reservations may be made up to a year in advance. If you are wanting to camp between Memorial Day & Labor Day, the reservation should be made as soon as possible. Lodges and cabins are always our first sites to fill up.
Q. How much is a deposit?
A. The deposit is equal to the first night of your stay.
Q. What is the cancellation policy for a kabin?
A. All cancellations are subject to a $10 fee. To receive the balance of the deposit back, we must be notified by 4 p.m. 7 days prior to your arrival. If the reservation is made over a holiday or a special event such as the Indy 500, Brickyard 400, or Moto GP, the deposit is not refundable.
